Historical Cohort Policy

Definition & Scope

Every historical aggregate is recomputed from the subset of ordinary primary schools (type 1012 and 1013) that are still marked as active or legally active for Danmarks Statistik at the time of extraction. Schools that have closed, merged, or been deactivated no longer contribute to later totals, even in the years when they previously appeared.

Missing Data Handling

No aggregate reintroduces removed institutions; the coverage badge or note reports the number of institutions dropped from each year so analysts can distinguish true closures from the cohort policy.
